Getting started: your first 30 days

1. Activate your Office In Motion account

A Health Coach must first activate his account before beginning his business activities. Your Office In Motion is your online connection to Take Shape For Life, the online back office to your business. In order to bring on Clients and get paid, you must activate your account online and complete your paperwork. This online process includes:

Agreement (via electronic signature) to the Health Coach Terms and Conditions and governing policies and procedures
Completion of the Basic Enrollment Questionnaire
Proof of a valid tax ID number via submittal of IRS Form W-9 (for tax purposes only)

2. Pass the Basic Competency Exam

After activating your account, you have 30 days to take (and pass) the Basic Competency Exam to show you have the knowledge necessary to coach Clients. If you miss the deadline, your account will close, so be sure to complete the Basic Competency Exam within the first 30 days.

3. Learn the basics of our products and protocols

To learn the basics of the Medifast Program and prepare for the Basic Competency Exam, study:

4. Build your business foundations

Watch the Office In Motion online tutorials to learn all the site's features and functions.
Set up your co-branded website.
Order your Take Shape For Life business cards.
Set up a work area dedicated to conducting your business.
Get a business phone line with three-way calling, call waiting, and voicemail so you don't miss your Clients when they contact you.

5. Get connected with your support system

Contact your support team, including your Business Coach and their Business Leadership Team, and introduce yourself.
Ask your Business Coach to help you develop a few Clients through face-to-face meetings or three-way calls between you, your Business Coach, and the Client.

6. Invest in yourself and your business

Invest time each day working on your business plan and building your expertise.
